Injectables, in general terms
An injectable is a product placed into or under the skin with a needle or cannula. In a med spa, that usually means wrinkle relaxers or dermal fillers. Products, doses and techniques differ, and so do the areas a provider will consider.
Because these are injected, rules are stricter than for a facial. Injectables are given by licensed providers where state law allows, and Oklahoma sets who may inject and what supervision applies. A provider will also need your health history and a list of your medicines before anything is decided.
If you are curious but unsure, a consultation request is a low-pressure way to ask.
Signs a consultation is thorough
You can learn a lot from how an injectables consultation is run. A thorough one usually includes:
- questions about your health, medicines, allergies and pregnancy
- a clear name for the product type being discussed
- a plain talk about possible side effects and what to do if one happens
- a chance to ask questions without being rushed
- written aftercare instructions
- no pressure to decide on the spot
Injectables are given by licensed providers where state law allows. It is fine to ask who the provider is, what license they hold and who oversees them.
Three things a provider will want to know
Before an injectables consultation, be ready to tell the provider three things.
What you want to ask about. Point to the area, describe it, and say how long you have noticed it.
Your health. Conditions, allergies, medicines, supplements, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Your history. Any injectables before, where and when, and how you found them.
Write these down so you do not miss anything. Injectables are given by licensed providers where state law allows, and the provider decides what is suitable.
Questions about injectables
Does this site inject anyone?
No. This site is not a clinic and has no providers. It passes your consultation request to a local provider in or near Oklahoma City. Any injectable is given by a licensed provider where state law allows, after a consultation where they decide what is suitable.
Will I be treated at the consultation?
Sometimes. Some providers can treat at the same visit if you both agree, and others prefer a separate appointment. Sending a request on this site does not book or commit you to anything. You can always take time to think after hearing the provider's view.
What should I ask an injector?
Ask about their license, training and how often they inject; which product they suggest and why; possible side effects; how they handle complications; and aftercare. The questions to ask page has a longer list you can print or copy.
One form, one local provider, and your questions answered before any decision.
